What a way to let loose after a jam packed day of post production/Photoshop and marketing….
The night started off at a little Spanish Restaurant in Surry Hills, and after a few bottles of red, we ended up at the local Karaoke Bar down the road.
Although the little compact camera flash drowned out the ambiance in these pictures… The Karaoke bar was dark, dingy and accompanied by drunken photographers trying to get their hands on the microphone.
In all seriousness, I have to say that it was quite a surreal feeling to be hanging out with very respected and world famous wedding photographers. What an honour huh!!

Today was an early start as Fivo arrived for day two of the Jerry workshop. The day began with Jerry demonstrating trademark techniques such as lighting, posing and creating masterpieces with the help of some good looking models including Ryan Schembri and friends.
Next it was Fivo’s turn to practice these techniques and create his own masterpieces, which he did with amazing results. It is incredible how the least obvious location can be turned into a stunning piece of art. Tomorrow Jerry will critique these images taken from today and provide feedback. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s updates.

Fivo spent the first day of the Jerry Ghionis workshop absorbing all the interesting information and listening to Jerry’s experiences and knowledge. Then it was time to start critiquing 10 images taken from the same wedding, and 5 favourite shots. Another famous photographer Rocco helped Jerry critique the images. The night ended on a high with everyone buzzing with excitement and reflecting on what they had already learnt in such a short space of time. Fivo came home quite late and we sat up talking about the events of the day, while making hot chocolate and toast. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update…. Regards Jacinda xxx

Congratulations to Kiro and Jadranki who were married on Saturday 9th May 2009.
The house was buzzing with energy as we arrived. The band was in full swing and celebrations were underway with lot’s of food, and dancing. Nick from Stunning Images was the videographer for the day.
The Bride and Groom prepared to get ready and the best man presented Jadranki with her shoes, offering various amounts of money. Next it was time for the happy couple to present their guests with gifts, before heading off to the church.

The ceremony was held at Saint Dimitria Macedonian Orthodox Church. The ceremony was lovely with a small group of friends and family attending. Fivo took some beautiful shots with natural light coming in from the windows, while Jacinda took a combination of formal and candid shots.
After a big group shot out the front of the church we went to the Botanical Gardens for some formal shots of the bridal party, with a picturesque background. Next we headed to City Beach for a romantic stroll along the sand. Fivo used the Pocket wizard to create gorgeous images just as the sun was setting. The lighthouse was our next venture, with an awesome view of the ocean behind them. Our last stop was the wharf and boat ramp, Fivo caught some fantastic shots, as the last bit of sunlight vanished before the moon came out.

The reception was held at City Beach Function Centre. The venue was breathtaking, the service was excellent and Amy our co ordinator for the day was a pleasure to work with. After the bridal party was announced we went straight into the bridal waltz. Kiro and Jadranki looked so in love and then the partying began. The night was full of dancing, drinking and eating. Even Jacinda joined in the traditional Macedonian dancing ( she can’t help herself!)

We would like to thank all of the people who made the day so special for Kiro and Jadranki. Nick from Stunning Images did a fantastic job,it’s always fun working with you!

Jacinda went along to the ‘Portraits for Passion, Profit and Lifestyle’ Seminar to hear Tero speak about the 25 years experience he has running a successful Portrait Studio.
Jacinda was touched by Tero’s honest and down to earth nature as he reflected on his personal journey of the good times and the bad and how with pure determination Tero worked hard and fought back to become the photographer he is today.
Jacinda was filled with inspiration and great ideas to put into practice for FIVO Photography.

The morning was slightly overcast as I arrived in the Hunter Valley. The whole bridal party and family members were preparing for the big day ahead as the sun began to appear. The bride and groom were very relaxed as they finalized the last few details. Once I began taking photos of the wedding accessories, gown, flowers etc the house was in lockdown mode, where the groom and family stayed on one side and the bride and family on the other. We pulled it off without a hitch and had time for some family portraits before heading off to the ceremony.

The gazebo area looked very quaint and romantic with rose petals leading down the centre of the aisle and through the archway. Emma looked absolutely beautiful as she walked down the garden path with her parents. Robert was smiling as he waited for his bride. The ceremony was just perfect with friends and family gathered close by as the celebrant pronounced them as husband and wife, Emma and Robert shared a kiss before signing the wedding certificate.

Friends and family congratulated the happy couple and took part in some formal shots as well as a big group shot with the picturesque views of The Hunter and the vineyards in the background. Then with our bottle of champagne in hand we took off to wander through the vineyards, exploring the amazing grounds of the Golden Grape Estate. We shot some awesome pictures near the lake and the surrounding areas throughout the evening. As we made our way back to the reception, the traditional plate smashing frenzy was all part of the excitement and start to their new life together… Let’s hope there won’t be any more plate smashing at their actual home
It was a lovely day overall and we wish them all the best!!
Best Wishes,
Jacinda

Tonight Fivo had the privilege of meeting some of the AIPP Masters of Photography, who judge for the APPA (Australian Professional Photography Awards) which is sponsored by Canon.
Tonight was an awesome night because we put up some of our favourite wedding images to be critiqued prior to entering them into the 2009 APPA later in June….
“WOW, I was so over the moon to hear the outstanding compliments after my images were painfully critiqued.” “I say it was painful, because others before me were receiving quite heartbreaking comments and whilst waiting to be critiqued, I was rather nervous”.
To cut a long story short, I was basically advised that I should enter and will have a hot chance of winning the silver ribbon in the upcoming 2009 Canon Australian Professional Photographer of The Year Awards. We will also be entering the 2009 Epson AIPP NSW Professional Photography Awards.
Both of these award nights are black tie events with the major heads of Canon, Epson and of course the Australian Institute of Professional Photography…
So it will be absolutely awesome to win, and we are happy to advise, we are in extremely good shape!!
